Introducing our Community Platform
We’re here to help the charity sector thrive by making the very best digital services accessible to all.
Most charities don’t need a complex online presence – they need something simple and straightforward.
But that doesn’t mean that you should suffer with poor design, or have to grapple with “do it yourself” solutions like Wix that come with a steep learning curve and heavy time investment.
This is why we built our Community Platform – an affordable, high quality solution for small charities that want a website that works.

It can be overwhelming deciding where to go to get a website for your charity. The most common options are to build it yourself with a DIY builder such as Wix or Squarespace, or to hire a freelancer to do it for you. Below we compare our Community Platform to these two options.

/ How to choose
Which option is right for you?
We are not here to pressure-sell our Community Platform to you – we want to ensure you make a choice that is right for you. Here’s some guidance on how to choose.
When to choose Community
If you'd like a simple, accessible website built for you on an established process and supported by sector specialists for less than the cost of a freelancer or agency, this is worth your consideration. That being said, our platform is not suitable for complex sites, or sites that require highly bespoke functionality.
When to choose a DIY builder
If you have almost no budget but can pay a small monthly fee (£30+) for a small website that doesn’t receive much traffic, it is worth considering Wix or Squarespace. Be sure to consider the time investment needed to build the site, as well as the potential learning curve required if you're new to website design.
When to choose a freelancer
If you have a lump sum to invest (£3k+) and you can find a freelancer who is able to design and build your website, this could be a worthwhile investment. Ideally, they will have sector experience and be able to explain their end-to-end process to you. Be sure to look for proof of competency, and ask lots of questions.
