Streamlining the ops for a children's cancer charity

Born out of personal loss

Alfie’s Wish is a wonderful, founder-led charity that funds respite care for families experiencing childhood cancer. When we met the team, they were struggling working across multiple platforms, and often in silos. As a result, work was slow, disjointed, and created a sense of anxiety that things would get missed. They needed a centralised database to store and manage their daily activities, as well as bring in some much-needed automation to relieve the pressure.

/ What we did

Building a robust platform

We engaged the team in an exercise to explore “what would be a dream outcome of this project for you?”. We then performed a technical analysis of how they currently operated. What appeared in the gap between where they are, and where they wanted to be, informed the brief for this project. They needed oversight and linkage between the events they run, their growing army of fundraisers, their corporate sponsors, their hospital referral partners, as well as their grantmaking pipeline. Our robust, custom CRM build covered all these areas.

/ How we did it

Bringing it all together

We built Alfie’s Wish CRM on Monday.com, a flexible platform for organisations of all sizes. They offer a generous non-profit plan, so the team gained access to some fantastic features free of charge.

Alfie’s Wish is a small but highly active organisation, and they kept a lot of records inside various spreadsheets and forms. Their website is on Wix, their family applications came through Google Forms, their donation data came through multiple sources including JustGiving and various charity pots at event venues. Bringing this all together, and lightening the load through automation, was a challenging but rewarding process.

/ The outcome

A fully systemised CRM

The team has a fully systemised CRM that can not only run their day-to-day operations, but also automates repetitive tasks, and gives them oversight of their various pipelines of work. This will help speed up the way they work, reduce stress and human error, and significantly increase the impact that Alfie’s Wish can have in the world.
