The World in Front of Me
See how we designed a people-centred brand for AJHS podcast and exhibition 'The World in Front of Me'
Everybody’s story is worth hearing and understanding
The World in Front of Me: A Bill Aron Retrospective is a celebration of Jewish life in the US and beyond, celebrating the diversity of the Jewish experience across the world. Co-curated by Bill Aron and AJHS, the home to Aron’s extensive archives, the exhibition showcases over 50 original photographs that tell the story of Aron’s expansive career documenting Jewish life over five decades.
Drawing on a quote from Aron himself – everybody’s story is worth hearing and understanding – we designed a brand system that stepped back, framed the moment, and let the stories told within the photographs themselves pull the audience in. Our objective was to develop an unobtrusive brand that placed Aron’s photography front and centre.
How we helped Aron's work stand out
Archives are often perceived as dry or dated. They conjure up old books and lifeless imagery – a notorious challenge for museums who value footfall and engaged audiences.
Aron’s work is layered with detail and stories, so we developed a logo and brand system that selected and framed the subjects of Aron’s photographs, bringing together the brand and imagery harmoniously.
The curly braces can be found throughout the exhibition and podcast branding, centering on individuals, and creating an instant connection with the audience.
