Spreading joy through music
See how we helped a music therapy charity create a clear, funder-friendly website
A website to create strategic alignment
Jessie’s Fund is a charity that helps children and young people with life-limiting illness, complex special educational needs and disabilities through music. The organisation was started 30 years ago, and commemorates Jessica May George, a bright and musical nine year old girl who’s life was sadly cut short by a rare and inoperable brain tumour.
The team desperately needed a new website to align with new strategic fundraising objectives, as their current website was cluttered, unattractive and hard to navigate.
We rebuilt their website on Community Platform, creating a user-friendly experience that appeals to donors and meets accessibility compliance.
New website objectives
The new Jessie’s Fund website not only had to look good and work well, it needed to support three core aims.
Support new strategy
Jessie’s Fund was founded 30 years ago, and had recently created a new 2026-27 strategy. Their new website was foundational to supporting the successful execution of this strategy.
Become accessible
The existing website suffered with various coding issues that rendered if unusable for disabled users. We rebuilt their website on Community Platform, which meets WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
Enhance user experience
Parents and carers were identified as a key user group, who may be tired, on the move and using the website on a mobile device. Therefore, the new website needed to be fast and easy to use.
Helping Jessie's memory live on
It is always a privilege to support organisations that are born out of personal tragedy. Over 30 years, Jessie’s Fund has helped fund over 12,000 music therapy sessions for seriously ill and disabled children.
With our help, the charity can continue to build on their amazing success so far, and achieve even more in the years to come.
We now have a website that is accessible for a range of audiences including families, carers and supporters. The platform is easy for non-experts to use. We are so pleased with the end result and the transition over to Community Platform has gone so well too.
